Character: Crow Armbrust (nom de plume in Limelight is Suede) Family: Sun Sign
A Place of Significance: A bonfire that has been set up in the "Academy Field", a large area normally used for various school sports, but tonight it has been repurposed for an end-of-festival celebration. Piles of wood are crackling cheerfully, blazing high and warming the cooler October air. The night sky is clear and full of stars, and there are several logs set up near the various crackling fires to sit around. The main school building can be seen in the distance. Meaning => This is the place in canon where Crow spent one of his last free evenings under a false identity, pretending to be an ordinary student at Thor's Military Academy and not a secret terrorist leader about to destabilize the entire government. It would be the last place he would be able to interact with friends he'd grown to love, friends he was about to betray, and when he made a promise that would end up shaping his future in ways he never could have realized.
2 Items of Significance 1. A small silver coin with simple engravings. In writing, it indicates that this is a "50 Mira" coin. Meaning => Once upon a time in canon, Crow tricked a first year by the name of Rean Schwarzer out of 50 mira, a paltry sum, but it was the start of a friendship. When he tried to pay Rean back several months later, trying to cut off ties with him before Rean found out the truth of who he was, Rean refused-- insisting that Crow owed him interest, and that Crow would have to pay him back before he'd consider the debt paid back. The 50 mira coin then became a symbol of their friendship, enduring despite Crow's best attempts to convince Rean otherwise.
2. A deck of cards Meaning => Both his canon self and his Limelight persona have a love of gambling, particularly card games (and horse races, but that's not handheld). They're games of equal parts skill and luck, and not a small amount of cheating if you can pull it off. No version of him would ever want to be without a deck to pull out, and a grinning offer for a game.
2 People of Significance 1. Rean Schwarzer Meaning => In canon, Rean is one of Crow's most important people-- his underclassman at times, his classmate at others, his friend, his enemy, his rival, his partner, and the person who believed more than anyone else that Crow was worth dragging back into their collective of friends. Crow has strong feelings for him, so strong that even through memories that weren't always easy to connect to himself, Suede couldn't help but be swept away by them.
2. Joseph Armbrust Meaning => Crow's grandfather in canon, a man who was many things rolled into one: his guardian, his mentor, the person Crow admired most, and the mayor of the city-state Crow grew up in, Jurai. After being framed for terrorism and forced to step down, Joseph died of a broken heart when Crow was just thirteen... leading the distraught teenager down a dark path that, ironically, led to ACTUALLY becoming a terrorist.
3 Items of Significance 1. A bass guitar Meaning => During his years undercover as a student at Thor's Military Academy, Crow once schemed with some of his schoolmates and friends to throw a surprise concert during that year's Academy Festival. Drawing from the rock music that was more popular in his region of origin than in the country he currently lived in, the concert was a smashing success despite being unsanctioned, and is a treasured memory. Crow played the bass guitar in that concert.
2. Ordine, the Divine Knight (a giant blue mecha) Meaning => Both an item and a sentient being in his own right, Ordine is both a weapon drawn from the power of the Goddess and Crow's closest companion, someone who knew the darkest and lightest parts of him no matter the masks he wore.
3. A Double Saber Meaning => An archaic weapon that had long since been abandoned by most, this is Crow's weapon of choice, one he'd mastered on his own through his own blood, sweat, tears, and not a small amount of effort.
Five Emotions You Want Your Character to Experience 1. Fear of an empty house once filled with love but now permeated with the scent of death, of loss, a home that his been ripped out cruelly underneath his feet and the loss of the only family he's ever known. 2. A desperate drive to keep going, to keep moving forward-- relentlessly-- to never give up on the course he's chosen, to accept the risks, the good, and the bad, never giving up no matter how tough or painful his path may be. 3. The joy and thrill of gambling, the incredible rush of adrenaline, the high of winning, the despair of losing, and the giddy excitement that rushes through his veins as he lays it all on the line. 4. The warmth and love of friendship, people who have chosen to stay the course by his side, who have discovered the mask and the person underneath and still choose to reach out, to love, to yearn, to hope. 5.
