Story Game Prep
Hello all! From June 12th to Jun 19th, there will be a pseudo-explora game that is all about your characters' psyche.
This is an INFO-GATHERING post, so you can tell me things so I can put them in the game! Below I'll have some examples of what I'm looking for. The game is not inherently trauma but basically whatever people put down I'll integrate into the setting.
Sign-up post is HERE -- here's some details!
=> You can sign up for TWO sessions max but one team and one mixed.
=> Each mixed session can have up to FIVE people in it, and needs a minimum of TWO to happen.
=> Team sessions have NO limit to number of people, but there can only be ONE session per team. (For example, Theseus could sign up for Session A with some friends and then Session O with the rest of his team. Or he could sign up for just A or O.)
=> I have a fairly open schedule so I can probably make some weird times work for your teams if needed.
=> The session times listed on the sign-up sheet are mostly for organization but if you (and your group) needs a different time I can probably make it work! Ping or DM me on discord!
INFO-GATHERING
This can be in their Limelight AU OR their true canon, it is what YOU as the player want to interact with.
You DO NOT have to fill it out to play.
You DO NOT have to fill out every section/fill out every section fully!
Character please list their TRUE NAME and their nom de plume
Family
A Place of Significance this should be a location that someone can experience. A subway car. A meadow with a fairy circle made out of death angel mushrooms. A classroom. Etc. Include as much detail as needed for it to be recognizable to the characters. For example, "A normal classroom" is probably not enough detail. But even something like "A 6th grade geography classroom with a row of jackets hanging on the wall. Each jacket is high quality, except one that has several patches sewn into it. There's rows of desks, a teacher's desk at the front and a large hanging map." is adequate.
Meaning => Please also describe the significance of the location.
2 Items of Significance these should be small enough to be HELD and with defining features easily recognizable to the characters. Something like "A well-worn coin with the face of a mermaid on one side, and on the other, a hatless man."
1.
Meaning => Please also describe the significance of the item.
2.

2 People of Significance
1.
Meaning => Please also describe the significance of the person.
2.

Five Emotions You Want Your Character to Experience The more specific the better. Like "Fear of being lonely" is mid but "Fear of an empty house, everyone they know is dead except their parents who once supported them now turning their back on them because they're the Anti-Messiah." is better.
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
5 Anything Elses This is basically anything else you wanna include. A pet. Another location. A memory. Another item. A feeling, a dream, a specific scenario. A sin, a regret, an event. Once again, detail/significance/etc is useful!

Loon
Family Unholy Disorder
A Place of Significance A tacky tourist trap gift shop in a cabin that appears to be in the middle of the woods, with plenty of "no refunds" signage. Judging by all the cheap memorabilia, this place is called The Mystery Shack and it deals in even cheaper attractions of supernatural creatures and the like. There's a few on display around the room, like a homemade Fiji mermaid and jackalope that are plainly just parts glued together. Then there's all sorts of useless junk for sale, from postcards to t-shirts, for some reason grappling hooks, a jar of eyeballs, even bobbleheads of "Mr Mystery" - Loon in a fez and eye patch. Everything is way overpriced! Especially in the vending machine, but where else are you going to get water, huh???
Meaning => Stan's very legitimate⢠business, his pride and joy. But it's just embarrassing for Loon, who doesn't share Stan's delusions and thinks he's better than that
2 Items of Significance
1. A set of photos of a family fishing trip, though how much fishing is going on is questionable
Meaning => Stan's family DOES love him and enjoys spending time with him, somehow,
2. An old Cloud Cadets sash. It's missing all the modern badges, but 50 years ago it would have been very nearly complete. There's a tag on the underside that says "Helix", handwritten in felt tip pen and faded.
Meaning => Childhood memories and evidence of Loon's real identity, which is a secret from basically everyone but especially Hex
2 People of Significance
1. Ford/Hex
Meaning => That's his twin brother, his #1 guy, he's a little codependent and currently extremely preoccupied with keeping Hex safe etc, a little paranoid about it. Also lying to him about basically everything for that purpose and even pretending to have amnesia because of it. Protectiveness, guilt, worry, fear of what's going to happen when he finally tells Hex the truth
2. Mabel (idk her Estoria name but she exists here too ok, she's Dipper/Ursids' twin, also in Cirrus)
Meaning => Great-niece who's a loud, selfish, irresponsible, kinda dumb chaos gremlin with little moral fibre but a lot of love, therefore Just Like Stan. Simultaneously baffled by her and like, this is the funniest kid ever, absolutely fantastic.
3 Items of Significance These can be any size!
1. An extra fancy gold chain necklace with a medallion, which says "#1 DAD" in red paint
Meaning => Stan stole it from his father's pawn shop when he was a kid, with the intent to polish it up for Father's Day. Instead he and Ford were both punished for the theft. Both a symbol of being an unlovable fuck up and of twin solidarity.
2. A small bag of passports, birth certificates, driver's licenses, any form of ID, even innocuous things like library cards. But they're all blank, no photos, names, dates etc filled in. There are also various Family icon items mixed in - a delicate watch, a big ruby on a necklace, sheets full of star stickers, a feather clip on earring, an embroidered pouch...
Meaning => The twins are (were?) Cool Secret Agents and Loon does a lot of going undercover as totally new guys. Like right now! It also ties in to his Blessings for forgery and making people forget about him/Hex.
3. Footbot. A toaster with a football taped to it.
Meaning => science fair entry and stand in for a loving father to play catch with him
Five Emotions You Want Your Character to Experience
1. Ok not quite emotion but, I don't want to just give away that he's lying about having amnesia/who he is etc, especially to Hex, but it's building there anyway so the little hints, anyway. Someone here might have a bunch of suspicious IDs/go by Helix in Cirrus/whatever else, no idea who that could be! Make him sweat a little. Put the fear in him.
2. Fear of losing his family too, especially Hex/Ford. Just because Stan's a crazy stupid loser who sucks and no one wants to deal with that (and maybe Loon is just as bad actually???), because Loon's lying to Hex and Unholy Disorder (this is also a guilt thing), or because something might happen to Hex and he can't do anything about it.
3. This also isn't an emotion. But especially in session P, Adventuring, Mystery Solving Twins. Also in general even without the twin part. Idk

5.
5 Anything Elses
1. Phoenix (on Unholy Disorder)
Meaning => Loon got himself so worked up about Phoenix being able to read his mind and therefore see through his lies that he wrapped all the way around to "fuck it we ball: admit it to the kid and trust he's keeping his mouth shut". So now he trusts Phoenix a lot and feels much more relaxed around him. Also kind of offered to adopt him. Ended up helping find Phoenix's real family instead. A little disappointed that he's not adopting honestly, but happy for Phoenix, protective of him!
2. Waddles, Mabel's pet pig
Meaning => Stan hates the pig. Spoilers: he becomes the dad who didn't want a pet and ends up loving the pig. Loon currently thinks Stan let Waddles get eaten by a dinosaur and blatantly lied about it (he's okay, but Loon hasn't seen that). It's the worst thing Stan's done in Loon's opinion tbh, no way he's coming back from that, his niece will never love him, how could he do that to her
3. I see that Hex has the lab for location, so for some potential:
The gift shop vending machine is a secret door that leads to the underground lab with the right code (1ABC3 I think? A C shape)
Meaning => Stan took over lab operations, as far as Loon knows right now that's making a doomsday device? But actually it's to get Ford back from some other dimension after Stan accidentally pushed him in the portal. He'll do anything to make it happen, mirrors a lot about Loon with Hex's amnesia situation
4. Money, cash. Everyone likes it. But Stan does most of all.
Meaning => Stan got kicked out of the house as a teen and told not to come back until he's rich, thus the grifting and money grubbing started. Loon's not that bad, he can even be generous. But he leans into a similar persona for fun. Kinda questioning it now though thanks to seeing Stan,
