SUN SIGN

[The Showmaster leads you through the dark stage and you find yourself entering something that looks like a very nice and expensive classroom.

Each desk is spacious with drawers that you will conveniently find any important item that had been on your person or that you feel like you would need here. Each chair is cushy and swivels.

Sitting on top of the teacher's desk is a young girl, older teen / younger adult in age at most, hair that looks like mint cotton candy that probably reaches down to her ankles. She has a knee drawn up to her body, resting her chin on top as she scours the room of who arrived . . .

And then she looks at you all with pure judgment. You'll notice that her purple eyes shifts when she makes the scowl, it goes from a solid purple to a purple mixed in with this symbol in black also.]

Sun Sign, you try to act so heroic, but you're all a bunch of phonies.

If anything, I'm surprised we weren't labelled with the opposite role.

Right? Aren't we Executioners or whatever?

Ilkana chose that name for herself when she chose to end the millings. It's not truly a Family-wide term.

Previous to that, the role involved choosing whose journeys would end, but not providing that end themselves.

Sounds like technicalities.

Either way, in this life I've just been a layabout and in my past life I was either a curse or a blessing to the world at large, so yeah.

Not a hero.

I think you're underestimating the impact a normal person helping others can have.

Either way, whatever path you want to pursue here is yours to take.

I'm probably extremely biased when I say that has not really been much my experience on this boat. If anything, me formerly being hella abnormal has been more helpful for others.

And yeah, I figured that.

"Others", or "Shura"?

Others.

Aster, for one. What with the whole "born to be some powerful thing people want dead" going on. Kid doesn't have a lot of people who have that experience to talk to.

Raziel, for another. Because of her visions involving things that aren't dissimilar to some things mine have. Eyes and shit.

So, no. It's not just Shura. Objectively, a lot of people on this boat are fucking nuts, criminals, or even just plain crazy. So being "normal" hasn't helped with very much at all. Or maybe, I'm just not cut out for it.

Maybe. I never was. And I kept trying to be. For stupid reasons. And it never helped.

Maybe you never were. But I'll persist in believing the life you've led here and the person you are have value, even if you see none yourself.

Don't get me wrong.

I still am who I am. And I'm always going to be that, even if I take on more.

I just think I hit limits on what I can do as-is.
