The perceived lack of control is their problem. Are you gonna tell me that you know how my Blessings work better than me? That you've got a right to hound me about keeping them in control and not turning off everyone else's Blessings all the time forever on accident? No, of course not, because that'd be bullhockey.
Those other heroes? They were talking bullhockey. And maybe it's because they were scared or whatever, but they're the adults, they need to suck it up. He's not his mom, and treating him like he is is extra bullhockey. Villainising a grieving mom just because she was powerful, also? Bingo, bullhockey.
[ damn why is everyone in his life making solid points about the avengers being wrong and he's not bad. idk billy it's almost like your circumstances are shit - He swallows hard, considering and takes a breath: ]
You're not wrong.
[ He tries. Shifts his weight back a little as he glances off to the side. ]
I mean. I know at one point the world blamed his mom on an incident that killed people that probably wasn't her fault - [ What led to the Accords, but, ] but I also know he doesn't have control or know he's doing stuff most of the time either. Maybe imprisonment is wrong, but he definitely needs a teacher.
Yeah, sure, I can agree that a teacher would be a good idea in that case. But he's not gonna find one in their definitely a prison situation, and it didn't sound like they were as interested in finding one for him as they should've been.
With the armour and stuff they had? They absolutely could have put you up in a hotel if their headquarters was lacking in the guest bedroom department.
Face it, Phoenix. You were part of a legit jailbreak.
So you're saying they could have rented you an entire hotel if they wanted to.
[ eyebrow raise. the Avengers are never beating the prison allegations. ]
Admittedly, I don't know about magic and all that, but it seems to me that it's more a case of it being misunderstood. Plus, you don't know how this all works out in the end yet, do you? Maybe your vision guy gets a great teacher and can tell the Avengers where to stuff it.
[ The need for a whole hotel.... But maybe it's not wrong. Also he knows it's not the meaning even if the anxious part of him feels it. ]
... Yeah, most of the stuff I've seen is from the Road and he has Agatha but I'm not sure how that goes. There's only a couple I've seen from not that time and they're all over the place. If he ever has a proper teacher, I haven't seen it.
I didn't mean it like that, Phoenix. Rich jerks rent penthouse suites and entire floors of hotels all the time, just because they can. If the Avengers wanted to keep you isolated but actually be nice about it, they could've done it. They still shouldn't have isolated you like that at all, but I'm just saying, they super did not help things with the oppressive jail cell vibes.
[ huff sigh. ]
Here's hoping it worked out well for him with Agatha. These visions... they're all just fragments of entire lives. Some important fragments, sure, but none of them are the whole story. So try not to draw too many conclusions just from this one, yeah?
Yeah, sorry, I know you didn't mean it like that — because you're right, it's really not a good look for them. And I get the being worried since he - I have a lot of complicated feelings about those powers and what they can do, too, but seeing the fear in the open in that way... isn't fun.
[ He nods. ]
Yeah. For all we know he figured it out on his own and they didn't have anything to be worried about.

Good thing his friends busted him out.
Re: CAKE TIME
It really was definitely prison, huh?
Re: CAKE TIME
Re: CAKE TIME
okay, "prisoners" still sounds bad.

Re: CAKE TIME
[ which..... does not help the prison allegations admittedly as he rubs his eyes with the palms of his hands and a long suffering ugggggggh, ]
Magick powers may not be great, actually.
